Baltimore County police remind people not to let strangers into their homes after a woman was assaulted in her residence over the weekend, according to a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department.

At 7:46 p.m. on Saturday, the Baltimore County Fire Department responded to the 300 block of Gaywood Road near Rodgers Forge for a medical alert alarm, according to the report.

First responders found a 98-year-old woman on the floor and after speaking with her, they called police, the report said.

According to police, a man knocked on the back door to the woman's home and said he was selling home improvement services between noon and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

After the woman said she had someone who took care of her home repairs, the man left, police said.

Several hours later, the man returned, knocked on the back door again and asked to come inside, according to the report.

The woman let him in and after she asked him when he planned to leave, he threw her to the ground, according to police.

The suspect is described as follows, police said:
  • White man in his forties
  • Tan complexion with "weathered" skin typical of someone who spends lots of time outdoors
  • Light brown/gray hair, cut short with a receding hairline
  • 5'7" to 5'8" and 170–180 pounds
  • Last seen wearing cargo shorts
  • May have tattoos on his arms
Police said that a person matching the suspect’s description has been seen in the area recently.

Anyone with information may call Baltimore County police at 410-307-2020.
