At least three Perry Hall neighborhood watch groups plan to celebrate on Tuesday night, Baltimore County police announced.
According to the event's national website, National Night Out is intended to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Police announced: "National Night Out is a great opportunity to stand up and show that you care about safer streets. Get together with your neighbors and friends, and think of innovative ways to show your support for law enforcement."
