The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported that it was working on multiple brush fires Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were handling brush fires on MD Route 7/Philadelphia Road between Joppa and Forge roads, according to the report.

There were two engines and a brush truck from White Marsh on Route 7, the fire company reported after 6 p.m., so drivers should use caution.

Brush fires don't just start something has to cause the spark. My guess is smokers throwing their butts out of the windows of cars. Maybe someday the powers that be will do something about this dangerous littering.

I was thinking the same thing. It's very odd to have brush fires in that area, especially given the wet grounds. If people must smoke, why can't they dispose of their cigarette butts properly? Do they throw them in their own yard?
