Burglar Steals $3K in Jewelry From Perry Hall Home

Jewelry valued at $3,300 was stolen from a Kendi Road home.

Police are investigating a Perry Hall home burglary on Monday.

Between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, in the 4400 block of Kendi Road, a rear basement door was pried open, bedroom drawers were ransacked and several pieces of jewelry were stolen, a police report showed.

The jewelry was valued at $3,300 and damage to the door was valued at $1,000, according to the report.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are following possible leads, according to Capt. Michael Balog of the White Marsh police precinct.

Police urge community members to report any suspicious activity to police by calling 911.

Why yes I am worried. Why the sudden increase in crime? What is going on for this to happen? I am happy that I'm armed and ready to shoot to kill anyone who comes into my home to steal from me or try to hurt my family and that's great, but I'd rather NOT. How far away do you have to keep moving to get away from this trash?

Apparently out of the state. The crime is slowly spreading further and further out into the county, unfortunately.

Drugs - you may find out this was an 'inside' job, every neighborhood has addicts that need money - and yes - sometimes if they know about $$ in your house they may steal from family or 'friends'

@PerryHallParent as a gun owner you should understand that just because a crime is reported doesn't mean that that statistic is up. When you hear of a minor obtaining a gun and shooting someone do you assume that gun violence is out of control? Please show me your evidence of an increase in crime. A simple check on the county PD site will reveal in our area that crime rates these last 6 months are on par with the previous 6 months, both of which are lower than the trends last year, and last year's rates were lower than the average of the 5 years prior.

i find that hard to believe. maybe because the Patch is doing such a good job of reporting the crime. i know in the last year there have to have been at least 100 breakins/robberies in the kingsville/perryhall area. i have lived here all my life and i do not remember this ever happening on such a consistant basis before.

Very scary; I live in the 4400 block of Kendi Rd and this is the first time that I've heard of this incident. @ Homer: I can tell you that the kids in our neighborhood are good kids, not drug addicts, so I don't believe this was an "inside job". I do agree w/ Michael that that the bus line is a problem. Just look at the the White Marsh Mall. The demographics have changed there in particular. It's not surprising that this is spreading into our neighborhoods.

I'm sure that the Goldfather would be happy to take this jewelry off of the burglar's hands. They are happy to help out Perry Hall's junkies and crack heads and destroy the evidence quickly!

Out-of-state is the way to go. The entire State is becoming a cesspool. There's no where to run, except to cross a couple of state lines. That used to be such a quiet neighborhood. There have been multiple burglaries in that general vicinity over the past couple of months. Seems like it is being targeted by somebody. We recently looked at a property across the PA line, in Shrewsbury. We were inquiring about crime and were told that there had been a recent break-in by a group from Baltimore City. Looks like the crud is willing to travel over at least one state line.
