Lady Gaga Sends Gift to Perry Hall Shooting Victim

Daniel Borowy received concert tickets and T-shirts, according to the Lady Gaga Please Visit Daniel Facebook page.

Shortly after the Perry Hall student shooting, a social media campaign began with the hope of capturing Lady Gaga's attention. Supporters recently learned that their efforts weren't in vain.

Daniel Borowy, a 17-year-old special needs student at Perry Hall High School, happens to be a fan of worldwide pop star Lady Gaga. On Aug. 27, he was randomly shot in the lower back inside of the school's cafeteria. Following three surgeries and several weeks of recovery, Borowy returned to school in November. He was honored this month at the school during a handprint painting mural celebration.

On Wednesday, a post appeared on the Lady Gaga Please Visit Daniel Facebook page stating that Lady Gaga had sent T-shirts, CDs, a personally autographed message to Borowy, a picture and two tickets to an upcoming concert. The post included the following:

With the tragedy taking place at Sandy Hook last week, we felt it was not appropriate to post this...however, feeling that everyone could use some uplifting news at this point I would like to share a post from Daniel's father, Milton Borowy:
I would like to start by thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Daniel. With everything that is going on I was waiting for an appropriate time to share this information and feel that maybe we need some good news! With that said I would like to share that he has received a package from Lady Gaga. It is pretty cool that someone in her position took the time to make a complete stranger happy.. The package included T shirts, cd's, a persoanlly autographed message to Danny, a picture and 2 tickets to her upcoming concert.. ( I believe they are front row) To see the smile on his face is overwhelming.. Thank you Lady Gaga and thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this happen!! @LadyGaga

Since the shooting, the Lady Gaga Please Visit Daniel Facebook page has gained over 33,000 likes. The page provided updates on Borowy's condition and urged use of the Twitter hashtag #GagaVisitDaniel. It began with Stephanie Showacre posting the following on the Prayers for Daniel Borowy Facebook page:

I know this is a long shot but my mom asked me to do it so I'm doing it for Daniel. He loves lady Gaga he keeps a suitcase packed so he can goto California and marry her so if she could go to the hospital to visit him he would love it. I need to spread the word because I need to get this to her somehow if it is even possible. I know I may sound crazy but I figured I would try for Daniel because he does not deserve to sit in the hospital with nothing to do. he is a sweet funny special needs boy that did not deserve to be hurt like that just because some screwed up idiot decides to bring a gun to school on the first day! so if you could help me I would really appreciate it, get the word out so share share share, I can be contacted on facebook so please help me, do it for Daniel! please and thank you ♥

My sister-in-law actually played with my nephew too Tim. Unlike EVERY OTHER single parent that wasRead More there. However, you can't tie your child to you. They came there to play. Bullies move very quick. When my nephew fell and was visibily scared, not a single parent except for one even noticed. Nobody from the library was in site. You are right that if parents were required to pay attention to their children then there would not be an opportunities for bullies because the parents of those bullies would be watching them also. When the group came from a religious school in Pikesville this is exactly what happened. All the parents stayed with their kids. All other parents, with little exception stayed in a waiting room talking amongst themselves paying little attention to their children. My nephew has been to all kinds of playgrounds and never been attacked by older kids before. Next time, if my nephew is attacked by an older child I will urge my brother to call the police and press charges against the parent. However, irreponsible Storyville need not worry -- won't be back there. Just wish our tax dollars weren't supporting this.

Let me put this in more practical terms. 1. My sister-in-law suggests that the bully seemed about 8Read More years old and probably shouldn't have been left at Storyville to begin with. There is no ID system at Storyville for childs age. 2. The bully caused various kinds of mayhem. Knocking down things, shouting, etc. No one from the library is actually in Storyville so there was no disciplinary action taken such as removing the child. 3. Parents should not view Storyville as a babysitter and not be allowed to congregate in the waiting area, leaving their children to play alone. 4. Items that could be used to cause serious injury should be removed from Storyville. 5. Cameras. If an 8 year old hits a 3 year old at Storyville where parents are suppose to be watching their children, I want proof for a court case. Yes, it's a shame it can't just be a pleasant place to take your kids but it isn't. It is filled with unrully children and uninterested parents. A child SHOULD NEVER leave a library with two bruises across his face EVER.

Sounds like your sister in law needs to grow a brain. If an 8 year old is running around like aRead More maniac, grab your child and GO FIND an employee to wage a complaint and get the kid booted. My daughter is 6 and went a couple weeks ago and was not permitted beyond the gate with the other kids in the group. Just because some ghetto monkey jumped the fence one day, don't give this place a black eye for it.
