UPDATE (11:22 a.m., Sept. 25)—Baltimore County police responded to the Perry Hall Bank of America Monday night for a reported ATM robbery.
At about 10:15 p.m., shortly after the victim had made a $40 cash withdraw, a man armed with what may have been gun approached and robbed the victim at the outdoor machine in the 9600 block of Belair Road, according to police.
A police helicopter remained over the area as of 11 p.m.
The suspect was described as a man between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet and 9 inches tall, with a medium build, according to Lt. Ron Brooks of the White Marsh police precinct.
Brooks urged community members not to use outdoor ATMs after dark. "Use an ATM inside of a convenience store—they're obviously much safer to use after dark," he said.
The investigation is ongoing, he added.
DS, you have hit the nail right on the head. That is exactly what has happened. My life in Perry Hall in no way resembles my life in Perry Hall almost 30 years ago. It's a horrible shame. And, aside from the burst of the housing bubble, this has affected our property values as well. Other areas have suffered much less, and are rebounding much more quickly than we are.
