UPDATE (Jan. 4, 1:54 p.m.)—Baltimore County police have released a description of the man who they say stabbed two men Thursday evening in a Perry Hall neighborhood near White Marsh.

The suspect is a black male, between 18 and 25 years old, with a slim build and was wearing all dark clothing, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said.

The two injured men were 19 and 20 years old, Batton said. She did not indicate where the victims were from or why they were in the area, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police announced in a Friday morning release that the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit was continuing its investigation of the stabbing.

Shortly before 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, in the 5000 block of Hilltop Acres Road, two men were stabbed after getting into a fight with an unknown person. The two men then ran to the 8600 block of Winding Way off Silver Spring Road, where they called 911 for help, according to the release.

The victims were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, police said Thursday night. As of Friday morning, one of the victims had been released and the other remained at the hospital, the release stated.

Area residents told Patch that a police helicopter and unit of police dogs responded to Hilltop Acres Road shortly after the incident to search for a suspect.

Judy Vicchio Dominick January 04, 2013 at 03:26 AM

Valerie Mettee January 04, 2013 at 04:21 AM
My dad lives on that street. It's very short and dead ends at a daycare. Do we know any surrounding circumstances?? Do the men live there or were they in the midst of a crime?
amy doerk January 04, 2013 at 04:27 AM
i live on silver spring rd and was wondering what was going on. i have small children, so any info to keep us informed is much appreciated
Master Mike January 04, 2013 at 04:56 AM
Stabbing happened 3 to 5 blocks away from Winding Way. They got lost at a dead end street trying to get help. The men are unfamiliar to the area.

I live right across the street. The crime scene investigators are there taking pictures and stuff. The cop has been sitting out there for 2 hours now .

The sun has the location as 8600 block...can someone tell me if it's on the side backing 95 or the other side of the street?
Carrie Flora January 04, 2013 at 09:35 AM
My daughters daycare is there! We moved out of the city to avoid stuff like this, ugh.

If I am not mistaken: wasn't there a crime of some sort in that exact location a few months ago? Either a home breakin or attempted robbery or something.

Master Mike, was your information about the two stabbed found on a police website?
parent January 04, 2013 at 03:01 PM
I live on this block and its actually a very quiet well kept neighborhood with a lot of older families . So if we could hear if this person lives there or not would help,

A few months ago, on Hilltop Acres, a woman was cut by an unfamiliar man who approached her while she was sitting on her porch. I live in this neighborhood and can say it is normally VERY quiet, and I have never felt unsafe. I would like more details about the suspect and the victims, especially since the reporting here tends to leave out key information on suspect description.

As of 10:50 a.m. Friday, police had not released any information about a possible suspect. Will update when more information becomes available.

How did your daughter find out it was a drug deal
Maryanne clarke January 05, 2013 at 01:56 AM
So did I and my child goes to that daycare. We now can thank the owner of the daycare Betty for buying a house next to the daycare and turning it into section 8 with tenants that have a nice criminal background record. It's all about the dollar with that woman.
Maryanne clarke January 05, 2013 at 02:02 AM
Good Lord that description sure does narrow it down! Let's see slim black male between the ages of 18-25 in Baltimore. Yeah good luck with that!
Evets January 05, 2013 at 01:50 PM
As opposed to a drug deal gone good?
PerryHallParent January 05, 2013 at 03:51 PM
Maryanne, I hear you. If it was a drug deal, the victims aren't going to say much, but if it was a random robbery attempt, maybe we can get a sketch. My family lived on the street I'm on for decades without any break-ins, stabbings or violent crime like this around them. Now, they can say that crime in the county is down, sure, but that doesn't mean that it isn't shifting and morphing into different types and from a different element. Oh and before everyone starts the "oh are you talking about black people from the bus" element that is NOT what I mean. Black or white, it's trash that's committing these offenses and I just wish that people could fight back, take them out and it would deter this sort of thing. With any luck, it will happen at some point.
Andrea H January 05, 2013 at 05:03 PM
John, I doubt the police would be giving information like that out, especially considering they withheld the suspect description for almost a day. When I read your post, I questioned how your daughter knew for a fact that it was a drug deal (beyond speculation based on the few facts we had at the time). I live on the street behind Hilltop Acres and have never noticed anything out of the ordinary or any drug activity in the neighborhood.
Margie Clarke-Porach January 05, 2013 at 06:17 PM
@Andrea, I was told by a detective that it looked like there was drugs involved and not a random act of violence. I specifically asked this detective because I have a son that goes back and forth to friends houses and I wanted to make sure some freak wasn't just running around stabbing people.
Margie Clarke-Porach January 05, 2013 at 06:33 PM
@Andrea, I was also at the crime scene and spoke directly to the detective because I live 5 houses from where it occurred. So needless to say I was quite upset and wanted some answers so that I could be ensured of my son's safety. Drug transactions sometimes happen in the best of neighborhoods so I'm not going to be naive and say our neighborhood is except from this behavior. In the past 3-4 yrs. on my street alone (Winding Way) there has been 2-3 break ins. My neighbors next to me had their home broken into last year, neighbor across from me was the yr. before and my in-laws directly across the street from me had their garage broken into the yr. before that. Ooooops almost forgot the neighbor up the street had their vehicle stolen right out of their driveway and now we get this. Needless to say this definitely will not be my forever home.
John Clarke January 06, 2013 at 06:32 PM
Andrea, in as much as I don't need my daughter to help explain my comment, the facts are that neither of these two POS belonged in the neighborhood as it doesn't take Einstein to figure out why they were in the area. Personally I have lived in the Perry Hall area over 50 years and it has totally gone to the dogs with its never ending growth and the bringing in of all the section 8 ghetto trash. Years past it was a beautiful place to live and raise your family, but as it has turned out people are leaving the area due to the upsurge of crime in the area.
Sally January 07, 2013 at 12:41 AM
I assume the victims thought that they could get to 95 by traveling towards the dead end of Silver Spring Rd. but when they realized they couldn't they knocked on the door of a police officer that had his cruiser parked in his driveway looking for help. The vehicle has been traced to Edgewood so they were unfamiliar with the neighborhood.
