Police Charge Suspected Perry Hall Stabber, Both Victims

Police believe the stabbing on Hilltop Acres on Jan. 3 was drug related.

Police have arrested and charged the suspect and both victims involved in a brutal stabbing incident in Perry Hall.

According to Baltimore County police, at about 7:40 p.m. on Jan. 3, Brandon Victorian and Donte Smith arrived in the 5000 block of Hilltop Acres Road to meet a third man named Dallus Newson. After a disagreement, Victorian and Smith assaulted and robbed Newson, who then pulled out a knife and stabbed both men, police stated in a release.

Victorian and Smith ran toward Winding Way, where they called 911 and were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment, police said.

None of the men involved is a local resident and there is no known connection between the men and the Hilltop Acres neighborhood. As of Friday afternoon, detectives were still investigating the incident, according to Cpl. Cathy Batton, a Baltimore County police spokeswoman.

Police believe the initial meeting on Hilltop Acres was drug related, according to the release.

Police announced the following charges:

  • Victorian, 20, of the 5900 block of Talbott Street in Gwynn Oak, was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with robbery and second-degree assault. He is currently being held on $175,000 bail.
  • Smith, 19, of the 400 block of Beacon Hill Circle in Norfolk, VA, was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with robbery and second-degree assault. He is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
  • Newson, 18, of the 4400 block of Greenwich Court in Belcamp, was arrested on Jan. 7. He was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, as well as related charges. He is currently being held without bail.

The incident rattled the quiet Perry Hall neighborhood, lined with a mix of townhomes and single-family homes. Residents told Patch that the neighborhood has several small children and most the neighbors know each other.

When I hear news reports about the white trash killing innocent children in our schools, I can't stop thinking how is it that children are unconscionably killing innocent children. After reading the sick racist comments in these threads, it's apPARENT why white kids are committing crimes of this magnitude. The mentality of you racist folks speak volumes about why white children kill one another. You're EVIL minded and teaching your kids hate! Then when your child becomes the victim, you have the nerve to ask God why me?! Comments like these are what leads to race wars. I honestly believe these racist comments need to be shared with the communities you folks made such disparaging comments about. I'm sure you fake coward racist don't have the courage to go to the neighborhoods mentioned in this report and make these comments! My point is, keep your racist ignorance to yourself because as these post get shared, it could likely lead to further community detriment. Your racist feedback is not improving crime statistic, rather it's showing just how sick and uneducated you people are!!!!

I don't mind the criminal against criminal violence. These guys do a pretty good job of policing themselves. Let them kill each other. When it is bad guy against good guy that is when the problem occurs for me. They can destroy each other. Let them have at it. Just leave the innocent alone.
PatchTroll January 12, 2013 at 06:16 pm
Yes exactly, "comments like these lead to race wars". You sir are a racist, and a hypocrite. I think you need serious help as well and you might actually be the one of sub average intelligence If you are going to get sucked into racist comments, and then ultimately reveal yourself as a racist. I fail to see your point if you are telling me the recent school shootings had ANYTHING TO DO WITH RACE. Your aguement is irrelevent; How is white kids killing white kids racism? Your first comment made more sense but what you just said is borderline retarded. I'm not picking on you but rather defending myself because you said white trash and I don't know if I fall into that category or not because I'm white. Maybe you should research the definition of racism before you call "White Folk" racist.

Red Dolphin January 12, 2013 at 07:34 pm
while I do agree its not fair to focus on one single race,Miss,,,,,,,,,,, if you do the math the shootings at the schools are miniscule when compared to Chicago,Baltimore, Philly, Norfolk, Wash DC etc etc,,,,,,,,,,, big time Miss,,,,,,,,,, again you are right to say the comments are racists by nature ..........WE ALL NEED TO BE CONCERNED

It never ceases to amaze me how it is OK to criticize White people, but racism when you criticize Black people! The breakdown of the family is a contributing factor to the amount of crime not only in the Black communities, but in all communities! I have moved many times to try to escape the crime and breakdown of the neighborhoods and it was always due to people moving in who were not homeowners and did not give dam about their kids running the streets! These kids did not go to school or hold jobs! They turn to selling drugs because that is where the easy money is. Teenage pregnancy and fatherless kids are destroying this country. This is much more prevalent in the Black community, so if you want to call me a racist for stating facts then go ahead!
Eric Martin January 12, 2013 at 08:05 pm
This story has nothing to do with race directly. It does have to do with the "Great Society" programs causing a breakdown of the family unit and replacing the father with a benevolent government. The result of these well-intentioned programs disproportionately affected minority families leading to increased poverty, increased despair and criminal activity. Study after study has shown that the family structure has suffered because of these welfare programs. So, when posters here point to the obvious, that does not make them racists. They are simply reacting to the anecdotal evidence all around them. Pointing to racist attitudes is an easy cop-out instead of addressing the real underlying problems in minority communities.
Nick January 13, 2013 at 07:25 am
@other Tim. We shouldn't outlaw all knives, just assault knives. You know, the big black scary looking ones. Oh wait, was that racist?
Matt January 13, 2013 at 12:47 pm
Hahahahahaha! That's a good one.
John Clarke January 13, 2013 at 07:01 pm
They received exactly what they deserved. Homeowners are getting fed up with the lowlifes coming into their communities and causing problems. Too damn bad the POS aren't dead.
John Clarke January 13, 2013 at 07:50 pm
LOL Nick, you must mean ones that look like my Black K-BAR that were made for gutting street thugs.
Connor Semss January 13, 2013 at 09:38 pm
As a white guy, these comments are quite ridiculous. I am a longtime Nottingham resident and to pretend that crime does not exist here is foolish. Joppa Native knocking off our local five guys in December? Remember the Kingsville native that was incarcerated for multiple home invasions in the area? What about the Parkville men that went into Baltimore City and was involved in a stabbing outside of Baltimore's powerplant?
The list goes on and on but of course for obvious real estate reasons, crime is under reported and not too many broadcast media outlets will deliver segments on our crime and when it's posted online from local outlets, the headline is buried. Who are we kidding here? Really
Red Dolphin January 13, 2013 at 10:10 pm
acccording to Connor most of the crime commmitted in our area is done by those who live here.............. but thats not the point, look at the whole picture ( fatal shootings in Baltimore etc etc)
Red Dolphin January 13, 2013 at 10:18 pm
that makes sense though (Connor) it reflects the population.......so I do agree with you to that point,, ( that distractive from the over all problem,,),,,,,,,, so what about the over all problem ?
Moesha rashanda Lewis January 13, 2013 at 11:13 pm
Hey Mylosha since ur so good about finding causes for causes ... Then what's your reason for "black people" constantly killing each other, selling and using drugs, and having no employment in the city...If the "white trash" kids who were obviously mentally unstable that did the school shootings ... Then what's your excuse for "black people" . Don't get upset when people voice there true opinions on society. Ignorance , black on black crime, unemployment and Obamacare...keep on bleeding our country dry but stay on your side of town.
Connor Semss January 13, 2013 at 11:48 pm
There is plenty of drug use right under your nose in your suburban community. The individuals who choose to participate in street culture understand that a loss is a possibility. By no means would I say those individuals are a representation of Black America.
In fact, Black Americans are rapidly moving in to the middle and upper class structure far more now than ever before. Many Black citizens work in and are employed by Baltimore City.
Moesha rashanda Lewis January 13, 2013 at 11:53 pm
Look at the metro gallery mugshots...9 out of 11 black ... Shocker. Come on man... Don't deny the obvious.

Such a shame. My wife's grandfather lived there since the 50s. We lived there for 5 years and saw it change. Guy robbed the Supperfresh and hid in a shed on my street. Shot at police and they shot him dead. So we moved to Bel Air and they are having the same issues. We have kids now and luckily my company transferred me to the middle of no where. It is pretty safe, good schools and great Demi's. it is such a shame that Bmore is so unsafe. Go Ravens!

This place is awesome. Used it a lot when my kid was 2-3. If I had another, I'd not hesitate to takeRead More him here. Then again, I watched my kid like a hawk - and you know, actually played WITH him - while we were there. As a result, my kid never came close to being injured by another unruly kid. Just saying.
Gregg Roberts April 25, 2013 at 06:55 am
My sister-in-law actually played with my nephew too Tim. Unlike EVERY OTHER single parent that wasRead More there. However, you can't tie your child to you. They came there to play. Bullies move very quick. When my nephew fell and was visibily scared, not a single parent except for one even noticed. Nobody from the library was in site. You are right that if parents were required to pay attention to their children then there would not be an opportunities for bullies because the parents of those bullies would be watching them also. When the group came from a religious school in Pikesville this is exactly what happened. All the parents stayed with their kids. All other parents, with little exception stayed in a waiting room talking amongst themselves paying little attention to their children. My nephew has been to all kinds of playgrounds and never been attacked by older kids before. Next time, if my nephew is attacked by an older child I will urge my brother to call the police and press charges against the parent. However, irreponsible Storyville need not worry -- won't be back there. Just wish our tax dollars weren't supporting this.
Gregg Roberts April 25, 2013 at 07:09 am
Let me put this in more practical terms. 1. My sister-in-law suggests that the bully seemed about 8Read More years old and probably shouldn't have been left at Storyville to begin with. There is no ID system at Storyville for childs age. 2. The bully caused various kinds of mayhem. Knocking down things, shouting, etc. No one from the library is actually in Storyville so there was no disciplinary action taken such as removing the child. 3. Parents should not view Storyville as a babysitter and not be allowed to congregate in the waiting area, leaving their children to play alone. 4. Items that could be used to cause serious injury should be removed from Storyville. 5. Cameras. If an 8 year old hits a 3 year old at Storyville where parents are suppose to be watching their children, I want proof for a court case. Yes, it's a shame it can't just be a pleasant place to take your kids but it isn't. It is filled with unrully children and uninterested parents. A child SHOULD NEVER leave a library with two bruises across his face EVER.
