Police Investigating Reported White Marsh Assault, Robbery

A man told police he was knocked unconscious and robbed of cash and a watch.

Hours after the incident allegedly occured, a man reported being assaulted and robbed outside of White Marsh Mall early Sunday morning.

At about 1:30 a.m. on July 15, in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Boulevard, a man and his girlfriend were walking in the Sears parking lot when three male suspects approached the man and knocked him unconscious, according to a police report.

The victim was then kicked and stomped on, and $40 in cash and a $10 watch were stolen from him.

The man, visibly injured, reported the incident to the about eight hours after he said it occurred, according to Lt. Ron Brooks.

Investigators are looking into a possible relationship between the victim and suspects, Brooks said.

Something doesn't seem right. What stores are open at 1:30am. Why did he wait 8 hours to call police. Can't wait to see where this story goes???

I'm sure someone will comment that the suspects must have taken the bus up to White Marsh Mall. There is no way that anyone capable of criminal behavior could possibly live in our special little town. (laying on the sarcasm pretty thick right now)

I think someone must have taken the bus to White Marsh to commit this crime.

I think you are both wrong, they walked over from the Section 8 housing without a doubt.

They took the bus from the section 8 housing to the parking lot - too hot to walk
Paul Amirault July 17, 2012 at 07:12 pm
At 1:30 in the morning?
JD1 July 17, 2012 at 07:15 pm
I was joking!
Evets July 17, 2012 at 07:23 pm
Or maybe they stole a bicycle...

I am just saying, not inferring, but, maybe: A drug deal gone wrong? 8 hours reported later because they stole his money and watch and he didn't get the drugs he was there to buy?

The bus lines stop around 11pm

Also wasn't there a girlfriend there with him? Hummmmm why didn't she call the police on the spot? Maybe she set him up?

Must have been a tandem.

Nobody should be walking in that parking lot at 1:30 am!

I think that in these here Unites States of America, we should be able to travel most anywhere most anytime w/o fear of attack or government interference (unless we are breaking a law).

Except on planes or trains.

I am surprised they would be out in that 'oppressive heat'. I hope the guy is ok, no matter what.

As with a vast majority of crimes commited in our area drugs are probably involved. If not a drug deal gone bad then a mugging to get drug money. A drug addict needing a fix does not care about the weather, or the time, or even who witnesses the crime if the need for a fix is strong enough. Do not delude yourselves into thinking its always someone from section 8 or a bad home. There are plenty of drug addicts from good homes with hard working parents who will steal you blind to get a fix when their parents wise up and stop supporting their habits. Crime can and usually does happen wherever the oppurtunity arises.

If the story doesn't make sense, we don't know the whole story. 1:30am in a mall parking lot?? Waiting 8 hrs to call?? The story doesn't make sense to me.

This place is awesome. Used it a lot when my kid was 2-3. If I had another, I'd not hesitate to takeRead More him here. Then again, I watched my kid like a hawk - and you know, actually played WITH him - while we were there. As a result, my kid never came close to being injured by another unruly kid. Just saying.

My sister-in-law actually played with my nephew too Tim. Unlike EVERY OTHER single parent that wasRead More there. However, you can't tie your child to you. They came there to play. Bullies move very quick. When my nephew fell and was visibily scared, not a single parent except for one even noticed. Nobody from the library was in site. You are right that if parents were required to pay attention to their children then there would not be an opportunities for bullies because the parents of those bullies would be watching them also. When the group came from a religious school in Pikesville this is exactly what happened. All the parents stayed with their kids. All other parents, with little exception stayed in a waiting room talking amongst themselves paying little attention to their children. My nephew has been to all kinds of playgrounds and never been attacked by older kids before. Next time, if my nephew is attacked by an older child I will urge my brother to call the police and press charges against the parent. However, irreponsible Storyville need not worry -- won't be back there. Just wish our tax dollars weren't supporting this.

Let me put this in more practical terms. 1. My sister-in-law suggests that the bully seemed about 8Read More years old and probably shouldn't have been left at Storyville to begin with. There is no ID system at Storyville for childs age. 2. The bully caused various kinds of mayhem. Knocking down things, shouting, etc. No one from the library is actually in Storyville so there was no disciplinary action taken such as removing the child. 3. Parents should not view Storyville as a babysitter and not be allowed to congregate in the waiting area, leaving their children to play alone. 4. Items that could be used to cause serious injury should be removed from Storyville. 5. Cameras. If an 8 year old hits a 3 year old at Storyville where parents are suppose to be watching their children, I want proof for a court case. Yes, it's a shame it can't just be a pleasant place to take your kids but it isn't. It is filled with unrully children and uninterested parents. A child SHOULD NEVER leave a library with two bruises across his face EVER.
