Police Officer, Driver Injured in White Marsh Accident

An accident closed Bucks School House Road at Perry Hall Boulevard late Tuesday morning.

UPDATE ( 4 p.m.)—A police car and Nissan Altima collided in White Marsh late Tuesday morning, police confirmed, sending the drivers of both vehicles to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident occurred at about 11:35 a.m., near the intersection of Bucks School House Road and Perry Hall Boulevard, less than a half-mile from White Marsh Mall, according to Baltimore County police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

A police officer was monitoring traffic when, after making a U-turn, his vehicle collided with a grey Nissan Altima. Drivers of both vehicles were taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with minor injuries, Rogers-Feher said.

Bucks School House Road was temporarily closed after the accident, but reopened by early in the afternoon. A small farm with ducks and goats near the intersection is a popular destination for area families.

Police have not released any further details on the identities of the victims or the cause of the crash, she said.

As of 4 p.m., the police officer has been released from the hospital, police said.

Hope all parties will have a speedy recovery. I also couldn't help thinking of all the people I see going 60 mph on that road with a cell phone glued to one ear...barely paying attention to whats going on around them.

Sooo it was the cops fault for making an illegal u-turn?
Tim March 07, 2012 at 03:56 AM
My guess is the cop was making a legal u-turn given the situation he was in, and the other driver wasn't paying attention.

please understand that whitemarsh is just the name of the mall. the real whitemarsh is in the zip code of 21162. where this accident occurred is the fullerton area. just because a builder builds a mall and calls it whitemarsh does not mean that is what the area is called. my husband and all his family as far back as the late 1700 were born in this area call FULLERTON, so please stop calling it whitemarsh.
