Three men from Rosedale are in good condition after their inflatable raft capsized along the in the Perry Hall-Kingsville area, police said.
The men, two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old, were riding in an inflatable raft when it capsized in a patch of swift water and rapids Wednesday after 7 p.m. One of the men escaped the water and ran for help after he could not find his friends.
Police and volunteer and professional fire and rescue teams responded and began searching for the two men. They were found unharmed along a trail in the near the Belair Road outlet. No one was taken to the hospital.
Jay L. Ringgold, a Baltimore County police spokesman, said the men did not take necessary safety precautions.
"It's unusually rapid due to the recent heavy rains," Ringgold said. "These gentleman didn't have life preservers on."
A coastal flood warning was issued over the area Wednesday afternoon, he added, which signaled that water recreational activities were unsafe.
