Suspected Perry Hall Home Burglar Arrested, Charged

Robert Edward Goetz, 60, was arrested at his home in the White Marsh area on Thursday.

A man accused of at least three daytime home burglaries in the Perry Hall area was arrested on Thursday.

Police have charged Robert Edward Goetz, 60, of the unit block of King Charles Circle in the White Marsh area, with three counts of first-degree burglary and related offenses, court records show.

Investigators have connected Goetz with two daytime home burglaries on Jan. 24—in the and —and one daytime home burglary on March 27 in the , according to Capt. Michael Balog of the .

Balog attributed the arrest to active neighbors who supplied investigators with detailed suspect and vehicle descriptions. While the suspect had originally been spotted in a white truck, he was eventually located after a witness supplied a description of the suspect's brown Volkswagen with a partial tag number, Balog said.

During the Mispillion Road burglary last month, a neighbor, hearing glass being broken, walked to the home and knocked on the front door. The suspect told the neighbor he was a cousin of the homeowner, before leaving the house, a police report .

"Burglars are usually pretty elusive, which is why we need witnesses to give good descriptions," Balog said.

In addition to the burglary charges, Goetz faces two counts of malicious destruction of property less than $500, one count of malicious destruction of property more than $500 and one count of theft of less than $1,000.

Another attempted home burglary was reported in Perry Hall on Wednesday. Between April 9 and April 11, at a townhome in the 4500 block of Golden Meadow Drive, a window screen was pushed in and a patio chair was moved, according to a police report. It is unknown if this incident is connected with any other recent burglaries, Balog said.

Police are also continuing their investigation of in the Perry Hall and areas, he added.

To Tim - YOU ARE 100% WRONG and I know it!! He is accused, you are right about that, but NO he did not do this, but then again you wouldn't know that because you just judge on what you read! You do not know him and the person that he is I on the other hand DO and have all my life; therefore don't believe everything you read! How would you feel if one of the people in your life that you cared for was being accused of something he/she didn't do and had to go through all of this pain an agony because of someone else?? Would you be so fast to judge then? I think not!! So before you and everyone one else are so fast to judge think about that!!!!!!!!!

Before anyone starts commenting on whether a person is guilty or innocent they should get there facts straight. Ever here the saying you can't believe everythin you read. The true facts emerge from this case will all of you on here be willing to apologise to a man that you know nothing about other than what you have read or made up. If I were you guys I would continue to lock your doors and windows at night because the person commiting these crimes has not been caught and is still out there. This man is completely 100% innocent. Never has anyone in the state of Maryland been falsely accused?????

S-Angel To all the non believers, this man is 100 percent innocent. I work with him. He works 2 jobs, a friend to everyone. In the final analysis, you are innocent until proven guilty, all remember that. It could be me, it could be you. So, lets not jumb ahead of ourselves, and wait for the outcome of this. Have a little faith people. Have faith in your friend, co-worker, and family.
