CORRECTION: March 2: Public Meeting to Discuss Forge Road Improvements

Baltimore County officials will hear from local residents about further improvements to Forge Road.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article stated that the March 2 community meeting at Gunpowder Elementary School, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, will address issues related to the Forge Road closure at Belair Road. In fact, the community meeting will only address "planning for future improvements to Forge Road between Honeygo Boulevard and New Forge Road." Patch regrets error.

Missed the meeting. Is there a report or minutes from that meeting? Also, what if any, is the plan for Gerst Rd? Any plans for sidewalks?

Hi Donna, this article is from last year. For coverage on Forge Road, check out these articles: http://perryhall.patch.com/search?_utf8=%E2%98%83&keywords=forge+road#/_utf8:%E2%98%83/type:articles/sort:relevance/page:1/_utf8:%E2%98%83/keywords:forge%20road (if this link doesn't work, just search "Forge Road" in the Patch search bar).

The outcome of the meeting was the eventual adoption of Resolution 52-11, which I sponsored to shrink the future footprint of Forge Road by 20 feet. The new roadway will be less intrusive for propertyowners and save the county hundreds of thousands of dollars in acquisition and construction costs. The resolution can be seen here: http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/countycouncil/legislation/11resolutions.html. I am not aware of changes to Gerst Road at this point.
