Marks Announces Support of Perry Hall Dog Park

The office of Baltimore County Councilman David Marks released the following news release Tuesday morning:

County Councilman David Marks (R-Fifth District) has formed a task force to develop a timeline, obtain approval, and complete construction of a dog park in the Perry Hall area.

The committee will have a goal of getting a dog park opened by the end of 2012.

“Even before taking office, I was constantly approached by people who wanted a place where they could take their dogs to exercise,” Marks commented. “I am very impressed by the dedication and energy of those who want a Perry Hall Dog Park, and I want to help make it a reality.”

The task force will be chaired by Tammy Zaluzney and include Don Crockett, Valerie Donaldson, Dennis Eckard, Jason Danaher, Lisa Geiger, Dennis Hoover, Dave Roberts, Vicki Rummel, Shelley Sibley, and Doug and Pat Single.

Marks has already arranged a meeting with the Department of Recreation and Parks to see what property may be available, and how the county’s only other dog park operates in Reisterstown.

“I am still focusing on larger issues of importance to Perry Hall, such as the revitalization of the Perry Hall Square Shopping Center, land use and development," Marks concluded. "But at the same time, this is the type of low-cost project that can be implemented with donations from volunteers, and I am happy to support this grassroots effort."

Senator Kathy Klausmeier and Delegates Joe Boteler, Eric Bromwell and John Cluster have all written notes of support for the project.
