If you're looking for a way to help pay for school and you live in District 8, Sen. Kathy Klausmeier is offering a senatorial scholarship.
Applicants must either be currently attending a two- or four-year Maryland college or university in a full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate program; or be a high school senior planning to attend a qualified school, according to a news release from the Senator's office. To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA and first consideration is given to those students who have a 3.0 GPA or higher, the release states. Applicants also have to have taken the SAT 1 or ACT unless they're graduated from high school 5 or more years ago, have 24 college credit hours, or are currently enrolled in college.
