Two Perry Hall Churches To Shelter Residents Without Power

The churches will offer heat Wednesday night to residents who lost power in Hurricane Sandy.

Two Perry Hall churches—Perry Hall Presbyterian Church and St. Michael Lutheran Church—plan to shelter area residents Wednesday night in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

More than 22,000 customers in Baltimore County remain without power Wednesday afternoon—among them, many in the Perry Hall, Kingsville and White Marsh areas, the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company Current Outages Map shows.

County Councilman David Marks arranged for the churches to offer heat and shelter to those who remain without electricity.

"Hopefully BGE will have power restored by then, but this is an option for those who do not have heat," Marks stated in an email to Patch.

"Residents should bring sleeping bags or air mattresses as cots will not be provided," he added.

Perry Hall Presbyterian Church is located at 8848 Belair Rd. and St. Michael Lutheran Church is located at 9534 Belair Rd. Both plan to open at 8 p.m. to let residents inside.

Marks also announced Wednesday morning that the Perry Hall Family Center Y at 4375 Ebenezer Rd. will offer free showers to anyone impacted by a power outage.
