Perry Hall High's 3rd Homecoming Tailgate Draws Crowds

Community members were invited to the outdoor barbecue Friday evening.

Between a lively homecoming parade down Ebenezer Road and a rained out football game, students and community members gathered for Perry Hall High School's third annual community tailgate party.

Organizers deemed it best so far—at least in terms of attendance and participation from local businesses.

"It's really grown. In terms of size, this is the most participation we've had," said student council co-adviser Dana Voso.

Co-adviser Todd Sautters added, "This is more community involvement than we've ever seen."

The free barbecue on school grounds was heavily supported by the PTSA, Giant Food, Premier Driving School, Bill's Seafood and Qdoba Mexican Grill.

"This is so great. Everyone is filled with school spirit, being loud and getting excited," said class of 2013 president Connor Porter.

Student council president Emily Kahn said the display of school spirit reflects resilience among students after the violent first day of school.

"It's great to bring everyone together, especially after what happened earlier this year," Kahn said.
