When students show up for Perry Hall High School this fall, their notebooks and school supplies won't be the only things that are new. The high school is getting a new principal.

Current Perry Hall Principal George Roberts has accepted a position as the executive director for curriculum operations with Baltimore County Public Schools, according to the school system's communications office.

"I accepted this new position as a personal and professional growth opportunity," Roberts told Patch on Thursday. He starts July 1.

Baltimore County Public Schools posted a job opening advertising the Perry Hall principal position on its website Wednesday. The deadline for applications is May 13.

"It is your chance to create an excellent, life-changing school," the job posting says. "You will impact the lives of thousands of students who go on to be doctors, scientists, community and business leaders and teachers inspired by the education they received in the school you lead."
