This is pathetic! We are in deep trouble in Baltimore County for jobs that pay a living wage. It isRead More sad to see the massive loss of manufacturing in Eastern Baltimore County. No one in this state or county has any know-how on bringing "new" high paying manufacturing jobs back. The mid-West states are booming with these companies. Michigan and Wisconsin are kicking our butts. Why doesn't the Patch look into what is going on there? Business Journal? someone? 20 more years of this progress and we will all be working at the mall, Target, Home Depot or Walmart. Hoo Haa!
Helen Lawless May 15, 2013 at 02:54 pm
Unfortunately, No financially promising jobs are being created in North Eastern Baltimore County.Read More Commercial districts that are producing jobs are Hunt Valley, Owings Mills, Columbia, Ellicott City etc..These areas are getting the larger concentrations of new business in Central Maryland. If you live in Perry Hall community the commute to these areas is 40 minutes or more. The new commercial - residential district that is scheduled for construction will still only provide for more retail stores. Do we really need more??? The media tells us that 83 corridor is the most convenient for the drive downtown for the executives in Baltimore. What are the communities doing to increase our viability to make 95 corridor the same??? It is time to move our elective officials into action.

COSTCO, Your Move!
CarneyResident May 23, 2013 at 05:33 pm
Being a member of BJ's for over 8 years now and paying the additional $50 for rewards on top of theRead More regular membership fee of $50, Sam's Club and Costco's gas pricing on a regular basis continues to be about 9-10 cents per gallon cheaper everyday! (See Gasbuddy.com) or drive by. I've complained to BJ's corporate about this but they claim that it's competitively priced. B.S! So, I boycott the gas and will only support Costco gas and Sam's club gas.

Yeah, its funny. Wegman's seesm to think that OM and Bel Air are 'close enough' to drag me out toRead More them. And I WANT to go there more often, but...reality is, I don't have the time to spend 20 minutes commuting (cause that's what it is) to grocery shop there, when I have supermarkets 80% of good, and several, right in front of me.

The Spark EV will be made in Kora, not the USA. The transmission and motors are made at the GM plantRead More in Whitemarsh, MD and will be shipped to Korea for assy. The Spark EV will be released in California and Oregon this summer. No word on when it will be sold on the east coast. Too bad Maryland's EV excise tax credit has been terminated by the MVA (see http://www.mva.maryland.gov/). It was a good incentitive to promote the purchase of EV's in Maryland.

Too bad no one is buying cars, let alone expensive electric ones... I have seen the same fewRead More charging stations around town and have yet to see a car plugged into them. If people were buying these vehicles, you would expect to see more stations, more tax credits for businesses to add stations, and more electric cars on the streets. But alas... just another failed energy and environmental gimmick. If the U.S. wants electric cars, give substantial rebates (i.e. $20k) to the buyers now (I know there has been a lame tax incentive, which saves a little). If you keep giving millions in free money to the car industry to do R&D, no one will ever own electric cars, we'll just read about them (and drooling politicians) on Patch. People didn't need HDTVs until they took away the analog signal, and when they did, the government bought everyone a Digital TV converter box. Once you needed a digital TV, the cost of a 50" Plasma HDTV dropped from $2k to under $600 in about 4 years. If the government really wanted to stimulate the electric car market, they would have done so by now by making the cars dirt cheap through incentives or raising gas prices 300-400%. The difference though here is that gas cars are still superior (unlike tube TVs vs. HDTV) and government need gas taxes and the industry that feeds politicans. "Big Oil" is always going to dictate what happens in the energy market and the auto industry. Sadly, electric cars are just a side-show like wind & solar power.

I went there today for lunch and was thoroughly disappointed. I am always interested in supportingRead More local businesses rather than the regular trendy chains and based on reviews I had read decided to give this place a try....BIG MISTAKE! I should have driven the extra mile for quality food at Taco Love Grill on Rt 7 and Forge Rd. I am assuming the readers who have given positive feedback and reviews of R&R have never eaten at Taco Love Grill?

Great pizza. Huge jumbo slices. Reasonably priced for what you get. "It's a meal on aRead More slice." I've tried The Godfather, Sloppy Joe (pulled pork w/ BBQ sauce), The Mac & Cheesey, The Antipasta, Shrimp Scampi, The Shore (grilled chicken w/old bay and ranch)(one of my favorites), and The Pasta & Meatballs. All were EXCELLENT. I recommend that everyone try it.
