I will never forget her! She was very special!

Ms. Bundy was my third grade teacher at PHES during the 1987-88 school year. She was an inspirationRead More to me and I grew up to become a third grade teacher myself. I was hired at PHES and actually got to teach in the room where I was a third grader years ago!!! As Ms. Bundy returned to our school this past year as a substitute and volunteer, she always told the kids that she taught me and that we had the same third grade classroom! It was a neat bond! I loved seeing her back in the halls of PHES this year and chatting with her. She was a wonderful person and will be missed dearly...

Dee was a respected colleague and a dear friend for more than 30 years. I loved her stories andRead More greatly appreciated her sense of humor. We reconnected recently. I attended her retirement party and she came to mine. She even substituted for me this past year and I knew that I left my class in more than capable hands. Dee's deep, recognizable laughter and warm heart will be deeply missed.

I remember Neil Armstrong's walk on the moon when I was younger and find that his lifeRead More was an inspiration and blessing to this great nation of ours! Rest in Peace Neil and may your Creator's peace be with you for Eternity!!!

It's funny how people's ages in your mind are so different from what they actually are. Mr.Read More Armstrong was only ten years younger than my parents--and when he walked on the moon, I was a little girl. But he was the Luke Skywalker of my generation, and to me, he was much closer to my age. I am saddened by his loss, and will never forget the thrill of his moon walk. I even wrote a poem about it at that time. He was a "hero" in the best sense of the word--not a carousing, drunken, drugged-up jerk, but a true and modest man who in his own eyes was "just doing his job"--making exciting, unforgettable history for the rest of us. I'm so glad he lived to see Curiosity get to Mars--and I hope he gets the best telescope in heaven, from which to watch its progress!

Zep do you have kids & were you ever a teenager??????????? Teenagers do stupid things everyday.Read More The fact that one posted a message on twitter saying they were drinking doesn't mean they were drunk and there isn't even any proof other they a twitter post that they were drinking. People of all ages are on that bridge all the time, what happened to those girls was a freak accident and simply that. It could have happened to anyone at any given second of the day. These girls did absolutely nothing to contribute to this accident, they were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. People can easily be killed anywhere, your more likely to get into a fatal car accident then a train accident, does that mean to never get into a car again???? No matter how hard you drill safety into your kids they are going to make their own decisions, these girls made a bad choice and unfortunately they paid a big price for it. But as a parent all you can hope is that you have taught them good, you can't wrap your kids in bubble wrap and keep them safe forever.
S. A. F. August 28, 2012 at 03:56 pm
No one is to blame but the kids themselves. They knew what they were doing and what the consequencesRead More could be.
JAM September 10, 2012 at 09:41 pm
They knew a container of coal would smother them to death? Kids do stupid things but they don'tRead More deserve to die for it. That Penn State Sandusky dude raped little children and he's not even getting what these girls got. What kind of justice is this?

In a completely rational society, the best of us would be teachers and the rest of us would have toRead More settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor and the highest responsibility anyone could have. -Lee Iacocca, automobile executive (b. 1924) Rosemary's passing is a loss for all of us. God be with her family and friends.
Bill Howard May 13, 2012 at 02:48 am

Sharon J. Remeikis January 26, 2012 at 09:47 pm

Thanks for this additional info on Lieber. Should have known that Baltimore would have someRead More influence on these great songs. Growing up in MOTOWN, Berry Gordy's rise to fame and fortune by figuring out how to sell black music to us hungry white kids was no doubt also influenced by Lieber's efforts. Loved this article.

He was a great guy...I wish I didn't let my father when we were kids make me stop talking to him. HeRead More may not have always been perfectly normal, as my father said, but he was a friend to me. We all called him 'Pepper Boy'...at a birthday party of mine, he took the peppers from the pizza boxes and put them in his pockets. No clue why; he was just a funny guy and probably did it for a few laughs. I miss him; we all have let friends go in the past for stupid reasons. I just want to say to anyone reading this that if you know deep down someone is a friend, no matter what anyone says, just trust your gut. If I would have, I would have more memories with AJ, and wouldn't have so much regret. RIP...and I'm so sorry...
