Heat Wave to Pass, Another Storm to Hit Perry Hall

The National Weather Service is currently predicting a 30 percent chance of severe storms on Sunday.

Here we go again. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK calls for a slight (30 percent) chance of severe storms for most of central and western Maryland on Saturday and across the mid-Atlantic on Sunday. Heather Sheffield, a forecaster with the NWS office in Sterling, VA, said a high pressure system will move into the region Friday evening and early Saturday, while a cold front from the north will move in Sunday afternoon. "It's going to be warm as well on Sunday and that's going to fuel those storms that are ahead of that cold front," Sheffield said. The storms could carry the possibility of high winds and hail.
