Man, Woman Run From Police After Allegedly Attempting To Cash Fraudulent Check

Two people recklessly led police on a pursuit from Edgewood to Perry Hall, police said.

A man and a woman dangerously evaded police Monday afternoon after a bank cashier suspected them of trying to cash a fraudulent check, according to a Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman.  The pair tried to cash the check at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union on the 1300 block of East Pulaski Highway in Edgewood Monday afternoon, which set in motion a search for the couple spanning Harford and Baltimore counties.  A teller at the bank contacted authorities after becoming suspicious about the check.  The couple fled the bank after seeing police cars pull into the parking lot, Edward Hopkins, spokesman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office, said.  Hopkins said the pair drove recklessly, speeding through multiple red …

Police: Angry Perry Hall Man Set Two Harford County Fires

A Perry Hall man is facing charges in connection with two Abingdon shrub fires on Tuesday.

A Perry Hall man has been charged with using gasoline to set shrubs on fire at two different places in Abingdon late Monday night. Police say John Paul Akin Jr. admitted to setting two fires—one at the intersection of MD Route 24 and I-95 and the other outside a residence not far away—because of "personal issues" and anger, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. Akin, 22, of the unit block of Ripplebrook Court in Perry Hall, was charged by criminal summons Tuesday with two counts of malicious burning. Around 11:32 p.m. Monday a person driving in the area of MD Route 24 and I-95 noticed a fire burning in front of the Vietnam Memorial Veterans Highway sign and reported it to police, the release states. 98 Rock's 'Stash' Pleads Guilty to DUI, Sentenced 6 Months

The former radio personality was arrested in July after a crash on Interstate 95 that injured five people.

Former Baltimore radio DJ "Stash" has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in an Abingdon accident that injured five people. He was sentenced to six months in the Harford County Detention Center on Monday, Explore Harford reports.  Stephen G. Smith, 48, of the 1600 block of Junius Court in Bel Air, was arrested on July 22. The 98 Rock radio personallity was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving, and other traffic-related charges. Around 9 p.m. on July 22, Smith was driving a 2006 Nissan Quest northbound on MD Route 24 at a high speed when he crashed into the back of a 2011 Hyundai that was stopped at a red light, according to state police. UPDATE: Joppa Man Charged After Alleged Cannibalism, Murder

Alexander Kinyua had been in jail just two days before Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie was reported missing from the residence the two men shared.

UPDATE (2:30 p.m., May 31)—A 21-year-old Joppatowne man was arrested Wednesday and charged with first degree murder after an alleged case of cannibalism and decapitation of a man who had been missing since Friday. Alexander Kinyua, 21, of 535 Terrapin Terrace in Joppatowne, has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault, according to a press release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday night. According to charging documents, Kinyua—a Morgan State University student—allegedly told detectives that he killed Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, cut him up with a knife then ate part of the dead man's heart and brain before hiding body parts in his basement. Jo-Ann Theft Leads Police to Drugs, Graffiti

The Bel Air store was allegedly robbed by a White Marsh resident.

An 18-year-old White Marsh man was arrested May 14 on multiple charges related to a theft at Jo-Ann Fabric. Julien Francis Holter of the 11000 block of North Lorely Beach Road has been charged with theft of  less than $1,000, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and concealing a dangerous weapon. Police said Holter and another suspect stole more than 30 paint cans from the store at 615 Baltimore Pike before fleeing into the woods. In a car registered to Holter’s father in the Jo-Ann parking lot, police found 34 cans of spray paint, according to police reports.
