Official: Booms Around Perry Hall Caused By Aberdeen Proving Ground
An official said it was unusual for the sounds to carry all the way to Perry Hall.
UPDATE (9 a.m., Nov. 20)—An Aberdeen Proving Ground official confirmed that a series of boom sounds heard in the Perry Hall area on Monday were caused by testing at the facility. Lynn Witkowski, a public affairs specialist, called the testing "normal," but said it was unusual for it to carry all the way to Perry Hall. No further information on the type of testing was available as of Tuesday morning. UPDATE (4:30 p.m., Nov. 19)—A loud boom sound shook my house in the north part of Perry Hall late Monday morning. We heard them tonight in Hydes, MD 7:50 PM or so . Strange but they sound to us like the are coming from the west, not from Aberdeen. Some sort of strange echo if they are actually coming from Aberdeen? Have heard them the previous tow nights - around the same time. Quite loud.   more ›
