Police Chase, Arrest Alleged Armed Carjacker Outside White Marsh Sears

Police said the man was arrested after a brief chase that ended in the Rosedale area on Dec. 21.

Police arrested a Baltimore man shortly after he allegedly used a handgun to steal a vehicle outside the Sears department store at White Marsh Mall last week.  Darien Marquis Hebron, 19, of the 2600 block of Loyola Southway, was charged with armed carjacking, as well as several traffic violations and other charges, a police report shows.  Shortly after 10 p.m. on Dec. 21, in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Boulevard, a man carrying a handgun approached the driver of a 2000 silver Cadillac Deville and forced him out of the car, according to the police report.  Police immediately responded, chased and stopped the car near Kenwood Avenue and the Interstate 95 overpass. Police: Woman, Children Nearly Carjacked in White Marsh

A man attempted to take a woman's purse and keys outside Five Guys on Campbell Boulevard.

Police are crediting a woman's fast reaction and concerned community members with stopping a carjacking in White Marsh Monday evening.  At about 6:26 p.m. on Nov. 12, outside Five Guys in the 5200 block of Campbell Boulevard, a man pulled a woman out of her vehicle with her purse. He implied that he had a gun and demanded her car keys. The woman's 2-year-old and 4-year-old children were secured in the back seat, according to a police report. The woman refused to give the man her keys and started yelling. Some concerned community members started gathering around her vehicle. The man then ran away, according to Lt. Falsely Reported Perry Hall Carjacking Ends in Arrest

Police are investigating if the man charged with falsely reporting a carjacking is connected with recent thefts from vehicles.

One report of a carjacking on Monday resulted in 11 hours of police work involving six detectives, 10 officers, one barking dog and a harrowing tale from the alleged victim, Jeffrey Allen Wolford. In the end, the half-day investigation circled right back to where it began—with Wolford. Follow Perry Hall Patch on Facebook and Twitter. Police arrested the 43-year-old Parkville man and charged him with making up the carjacking story as a cover for his intentions to steal from vehicles in Gungarth Court. Wolford, of the 3400 block of Northwind Road, was charged with making a false statement to an officer and disorderly conduct, court records show.
