Rumble Strips Coming to North Perry Hall, Belair Road

Public officials hope the installation will improve public safety.

The Belair Road stretch between Honeygo Boulevard and the Gunpowder Falls State Park, straddling the line between Perry Hall and Kingsville, is slated for improvements by spring 2013. The Maryland State Highway Administration plans to install new center line rumble strips and to replace pavement markers. The improvements were requested by State Sen. Kathy Klausmeier, Del. Eric Bromwell, and County Councilman David Marks, according to a statement recently released by Marks. Multiple accidents have occurred along this stretch. Most recently, in July 2012, a truck and trailer ran off Belair Road and into a forest area, causing minor injuries. Please explain to me how rumble strips will stop accidents on this part of the road. I live on the bend in the road and have seen many deadly accidents over the past 30 years. Rumble strips will do nothing to stop accident, will waste money, and make evry feel good to think they did the most less cost effctive thing to fix the problem YEa   more ›

LIVE BLOG: Perry Hall's State Legislators Talk Special Session

The Perry Hall Improvement Association hosted its annual legislative session wrap-up on Wednesday.

With a special session planned for May 14, state legislators have more work waiting for them in Annapolis. Still, representatives reported back to the community on major trends and legislation Wednesday night at the Perry Hall Library. The Perry Hall Improvement Association's annual legislative wrap-up began at 7:30 p.m. on May 9. The following updates were recorded live during the meeting. 7:40 p.m. Patch was absent for the beginning of State Sen. Kathy Klausmeier's remarks. Klausmeier spoke about several pieces of legislation she faced during the most recent session, including her opposition to tax increases in the state budget and the special session.  Her final point covered banking legislation, including a possible sweepstakes program…

State Legislators to Speak at PHIA Meeting

The Perry Hall Improvement Association plans to host its annual legislative session wrap-up on Wednesday.

With a special session planned for May 14, state legislators still have more work to do. Regardless, representatives are expected to report back to the community Wednesday night at the Perry Hall Library. The Perry Hall Improvement Association's annual legislative wrap-up is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on May 9, and all are welcome to attend. The meeting is slated to include state senators and delegates from legislative districts 7 and 8: Del. Rick Impallaria (R-7) cannot attend because of a prior commitment, according to Dennis M.
