DOCUMENT: Zoning Changes in Perry Hall, White Marsh

Baltimore County's Comprehensive Zoning Map Process led to several changes.

The Perry Hall Improvement Association has released a letter from County Councilman David Marks that details zoning changes in the Perry Hall and White Marsh areas. Ultimately, the County Council approved the downzoning of 263 Perry Hall acres, either limiting, or in the case of open space, halting its future development potential. Marks Proposes Additional Perry Hall Downzoning

Development could be limited near Perryvale Road, east of Perry Hall High School.

County Councilman David Marks' downzoning streak in the Perry Hall area continues. Marks announced on Sunday a proposal to limit future development in nearly 12 acres near Perryvale Road. The property included under zoning issue 5-051 was once planned as an extension of Perry Hall Boulevard, connecting sections near Silver Spring Road and Chapel Road. East of Perry Hall High School, it stretches from Ebenezer Road to Kings Place off East Joppa Road and is owned by Baltimore County, according to Marks. Marks has proposed downzoning more than 11 acres of the property to DR 1, the lowest possible zoning permitted in a residential area. Currently, it is zoned at DR 5.5, which would allow for more than five homes per acre. He has also proposed …
