Traffic detours are expected Thursday night on Interstate 695.
Roadwork as part of the I-95 Express Toll Lanes project is expected to cause detours and closures Thursday night into Friday morning. According to a Maryland Transportation Authority alert released Thursday afternoon: Thursday, Aug. 23, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp fromeastbound MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) to southbound I-95 will be temporarily closed for night work. Traffic will be detoured to northbound I-95, to westbound MD 43 (Exit 67B, White Marsh Boulevard), to southbound I-95. The White Marsh portion of the project carries a $142.6 million price tag and is expected to create 400 new jobs. Three vehicles were involved, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.
All southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed Tuesday afternoon in the White Marsh area. Around 1:48 p.m., three vehicles were involved in a collision before Exit 67, leading to Maryland Route 43, White Marsh Boulevard, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation Coordinated Highways Action Response Team. Two people were transported by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
