Shortly after the Perry Hall student shooting, a social media campaign began with the hope of capturing Lady Gaga's attention. Supporters recently learned that their efforts weren't in vain. Daniel Borowy, a 17-year-old special needs student at Perry Hall High School, happens to be a fan of worldwide pop star Lady Gaga. On Aug. 27, he was randomly shot in the lower back inside of the school's cafeteria. Following three surgeries and several weeks of recovery, Borowy returned to school in November. He was honored this month at the school during a handprint painting mural celebration. Daniel Borowy, who was critically injured on Monday, is a Lady Gaga fan, friends say.
Daniel Borowy, the 17-year-old student who was struck by a bullet inside Perry Hall High School on Monday, remained in critical condition Tuesday, police said. The teenager was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma with a gunshot wound in his lower back after 15-year-old Robert Gladden Jr. allegedly opened fire in the school's cafeteria, according to Baltimore County Police Chief Jim Johnson. Since the incident, students and community members have rallied around Borowy by using social media, wearing T-shirts in his honor, praying and singing for him and organizing collections for his family. After five weeks of live performances, Perry Hall singer Paige Elizabeth Ogle was eliminated from THE X FACTOR on FOX Wednesday night. Ogle is part of the four-girl country pop group Lakoda Rayne that had been vying for a $5 million recording contract through the competition.
