Thunderstorms, Outages Possible Wednesday Afternoon

BGE and the National Weather Service have issued the following alerts over the Perry Hall, White Marsh and Kingsville areas.

The Baltimore Gas and Electric Company is warning customers that it is preparing for possible weather-related power outages Wednesday afternoon, in light of predictions that a thunderstorm and high winds might hit central Maryland. BGE’s warnings come after nearly 748,000 customers were without power earlier this month, some for a more than week, after the destructive derecho storm hit the region. Ready for another big storm? UPDATE: Storm Knocks Out Power to Traffic Signals in Perry Hall, White Marsh

Crews are working to restore power throughout Baltimore County, a BGE spokeswoman said.

UPDATE (7:17 p.m.)—A severe thunderstorm Thursday knocked out power to thousands of customers in the Perry Hall and White Marsh areas. The Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. Current Outages map shows a high concentration of outages between Maryland Route 1 and Interstate 95, north of the Baltimore Beltway, accounting for the majority of outages reported in Baltimore County. Linda Foy, a BGE spokeswoman, said more than 7,000 outages have been reported in Baltimore County, but she was unable to comment on the status of specific neighborhoods. "This is rolling through central Maryland," Foy said, "It's likely that we'll see additional outages." Local residents …
