If Rosh Hashanah is an excuse for not playing football, why is it ok to play on thursday when the holiday begins Wednesday night and ends Friday night? And I agree with what other commentators have said, why is Rosh Hashanah being considered when pro sports play on other religious holidays all the time?

If the Ravens really want to play Thursday the O's should be flexible, it's easy enough to make their game a day game or do a double header, but I also don't see why the Ravens cant play another day either if Rosh Hashanah is their only excuse.

I completely agree with the two previous comments about keeping cats as indoor pets. But I also think that the long-standing riff between cat-lovers and bird-lovers is laregly due to feral cat populations, and TNR only provides a (not-so-promising) long-term solution but culling the population is widely unpopular amongst the cat-loving crowd. Still, it's important to be an all-round responsible pet owner: leash your animal, supervise your animal outdoors, spay & neuter all pets!

I always assumed that as it stands now, the dog park area at honeygo park's maintenance is funded by parks and rec (please correct me if I am wrong). Why is there a need for separate funding? Water supply and key-card access are luxury items that do not need to be added right now. A fence would be the only reasonable addition. If enough money has been raised for proper fencing, just hire someone to build it (otherwise a grant just to cover that cost would be needed) and let parks and rec keep paying for it's maintenance. Additional funds could be secured by renting out the space (like you would the fields or pavilions) for private functions, by animal clubs, or for dog obedience courses.

As it is now that area gets a nice amount of traffic by responsible owners who have control of their dogs. Whenever I go there, these responsible owners bring plenty of bags and water. I kind of like that there is no fence because I have control of my dog, and know that other dogs who go will also be well-behaved. It would be nice to have the addition of a fence but I don't see the need for anything else if the county is hesitant to provide more funds.

if you want to make towson a regional destination why not give it a chance to offer something different rather than the same tired ol' chain restaurants that all have the same menus just with different ethnic themed titles and wall decorations.

Roads aren't built for free, they cost money, and better to offset some of the costs by charging motorists who will actually use the road than only use tax dollars. And yes, the purpose is to save time. Motorists who feel that time is money and are just passing through Baltimore will pay the fee and go about their merry way. Locals can continue to use free lanes, which will be less congested by out-of-town motorists who are now paying to use the express lanes. And now we are collecting fees from people who are only using our roads without stopping in Baltimore and putting money into our local economy. Everyone wants everything to be free, but time is money and there are plenty of scenic routes to take around Baltimore if you don't want to spend the money but don't mind spending the time. It's not ideal but it can be beneficial to locals in many ways, so stop your griping because no one is forcing you to ride the express lane.

I think Mr. Patro makes an excellent point about community involvement. Nearly every Patch article is full of people complaining about the community but very few people actually want to do anything about it, they want everyone else to solve the problems of a community they consider themselves to be apart of despite their inactivity. Let's all take a little more interest in the place we call home.

His official statement will NEVER get to your ears faster than instant social media gossip, silly.

@PerryHallParent as a gun owner you should understand that just because a crime is reported doesn't mean that that statistic is up. When you hear of a minor obtaining a gun and shooting someone do you assume that gun violence is out of control? Please show me your evidence of an increase in crime. A simple check on the county PD site will reveal in our area that crime rates these last 6 months are on par with the previous 6 months, both of which are lower than the trends last year, and last year's rates were lower than the average of the 5 years prior.

I don't really what your point is. Bullying is a serious issue but not all victims of bullies resort to violence. Likewise not all individuals who resort to violence are victims of bullying.
