Yeah, Ann Coulter is a great example of what's okay to say. She's an IRL troll. You could, perhaps, use your common sense instead of responding to her. That's what most people do.

Because veterans and illegals are in the same league. Wait, they aren't, that's a stupid notion. I bet if you passed the veteran's portion on its own (but then you couldn't get the illegals part though in a million years), there'd be no protest. Typical of the left. Stick something in the bill, then decry any opponents as not liking the good portions.
Here's a thought. Stop conflating the military in-state tuition with the illegals. You sound stupid when you do. One rewards legal citizens for their service and no one objects to it. The other offers yet another reason to break multiple existing laws and is almost certainly about to get voted down HARD.

ReplyRidiculous. It's not a Frankenstorm. It's changing and hitting us on the full moon. It's a Werestorm. It's nearly Halloween...learn your monsters! Seed the clouds with silver iodide and try to knock it down to a lycantropical storm.

You aren't keeping up with your side's politically correct playbook if you are okay with using the word 'retard' in a demeaning fashion.
But of course those rules never apply to liberals anyway so carry on, hypocrites.

On the article County Places Speed Cameras In Private School Zones

At 12k per month per camera, if it were about safety it would be less costly and probably more effective to hire and place two officers full time in each of the school zones.They can not only deal with speeders, but other offenders as well.

Zoning for commercial/residential is one thing. Restricting owners of private property from renting part of their property to 99% of law-abiding citizens is excessive. What business is it of theirs if the apartment is rented to a student instead or a parent? What business is it of theirs what size said apartment is? If, for example, I wanted to split my home in half instead of their "no greater than 1/3 size", why should the government have any interest in stopping me?
I also love the "merely providing a legal definition for something the county has allowed for years". It's not the county's land. It's not the county's house. It's certainly magnanimous to allow me to do things to my own property, but I sure needed regulation to reign me in!

Nice try to equate people who don't want Big Brother selling off law enforcement privileges to for-profit companies with inconsiderate douches. I see plenty of Me Generation people parking in the fire lane at the local Post Office; should we be installing parking lot cameras next? How about backyard cams to fine you if you're doing unsafe things with your grill or pool!

ReplyOf course we do. "The Government Should Do Something" is unfortunately the paradigm these days on all too many issues. The idea that the government should get out of most of the business it is doing is anathema and will get you roundly mocked for even suggesting it.
The whole reason for all this regulation is they have to look like they're Doing Something. Even if that Something is not useful or is even stupid and decidedly useless.

@Mark Patro
That's not even similar. The government would actually have to secure the financing before appropriating, much like you have to secure your financing before buying a home. What a horrific concept...such unfair shackles on our already super-frugal and responsible government!

It can be called in advance and I think facilitates federal assistance to the area in addition to putting existing emergency plans into effect. Not an O'Malley fan, but I'm glad he's on top of the situation.
