Pepco, and BGE, are going to get at least a portion of all of the rate increases they submit because O'Malley put all of his cronies into MPSC seats. And, Montgomery County helped to put O'Malley into office. You get what you vote for.

I emailed one of the meteorologists at WBAL and they sent me some information. It said that most of Maryland, except for the very southern counties, would see very little in the way of cicada activity. But, then I read these articles that give a different picture. I guess time will tell.

I also want to see his FIL's tax returns. He was/is on the Maryland payroll for years, after he left office, with a six-figure income...thanks to his SIL.

Zig, I did the exact same thing last year. I've been an independent voter most of my life, and have never registered as a Democrat until now. I may be only one vote, but I want my vote to count and I want to be able to vote in the Maryland primaries. The only way to get rid of the garbage is to vote against them in the primary. If you aren't registered to vote as a Dem in Maryland, your vote just doesn't count. My heart will always be an Independent, but I want to be able to cast my votes to clean house.

I don't doubt the stats, because I've heard them from reputable sources myself. However, I'd like to see the stats published based on zip codes. My guess is that it would show an increase in some areas, and a decrease in others.

Eleanor, how can you make such a silly generalized statement that all of the crazy drivers are from north of the Mason/Dixon line. That's ridiculous. I was on the east side of the beltway yesterday, and was almost side-swiped. We were driving past Towson Town Center a few months ago, and were almost run off the road by an idiot. When my husband blew his horn, she got out of her car at the next red light and actually tried to reach into the car through my passenger side window to grab at me. Neither of these two people were from PA. I do think both were drunk, however.

And, it seems like you are assuming that when I say we are making plans to leave the state, you think I mean PA. You couldn't be more wrong there either.

I wonder who they polled? I feel so stressed living here that we're making plans to retire out of state. Crime is increasing statewide. Neighborhoods that were once thriving are rundown, and it's spreading through the state like a cancer. I've never been anywhere else in this country where you have to travel through so many derelict neighborhoods when you leave home...unless you jump right on the highways and bypass everything....although my perspective here might be a little skewed because I live in Baltimore County. And, the political machine in Maryland has been totally out of control for years, and that angers me. So, I guess I'm stressed and angry and frustrated. And I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. Most of the people we know feel the exact same way. And, if you're still not sure, just get out on the roads and see the crazy drivers in this state. If that's not a sure sign of stress, I don't know what is.
