You know, I am a Catholic, and I have to agree with everything you said except for the one comment about government always being as corrupt as it is now. It has always been corrupt, but we have never seen anything like this administration. Obama-Solyndra, Obama-MF Global, Obama-GE, Obama-Petrobras-Soros-BP, Obama-Goldman Sachs, Obama-Acorn-Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac-Barney Frank-Chris Dodd, and on and on. And just to add, while I do know Catholics and other Christians who see the Bible like they do a software agreement, just paging down to the bottom and clicking "I Agree", a greater percentage of the atheists I know are complete assholes who don't give a crap about anyone but themselves. A couple of them are good people, as good as anyone else I know, but most of them.....not so much.

As far as your commentary goes, I've been paying attention - and guess what?

Governments were just as corrupt 40-80 years ago as they are today. Memories are short, the public is uneducated, and our species is inherently flawed.

Morality cannot be imposed by anyone, as the compass varies from person to person. Not to mention I know countless people in the Catholic community who are assholes in day to day life, hypocrites, the lot of them.

It's safer to say that people should treat others how they'd want to be treated, then try to suggest imposing someone's morals on another person. Unless its your children, of course.
