PERRY HALL - Baltimore County Councilman David Marks has recommended Perry Hall resident Robert Eckert to the commission on veterans affairs.

"I am delighted to recommend Mr. Eckert for the Commission on Veterans Affairs, but most importantly, thank him for his service to our country," Marks said.

Eckert enlisted as an Infantryman in the U.S. Army National Guard in 2010. After returning home from basic training in September, he attended Rutgers University and joined the Rutgers Army ROTC program. Eckert graduated in the spring of 2013 with a double major in Political Science and Criminal Justice and was commissioned as an active-duty Field Artillery officer.

Eckert is currently working as a real estate agent in Perry Hall and has previously worked as a site manager for Amazon.

According to Marks, Eckert is excited to tackle issues for veterans in Baltimore County.

"I thrive in environments where I can work alongside talented and hardworking people to solve complex problems and simplify challenging tasks," Eckert said.

The Baltimore County Commission on Veterans Affairs is an 18-member advisory panel that serves to support for honor BOCO residents who have served in the U.S. military. Commission members can serve for up to two three-year terms and work to ensure that veterans' issues will be addressed in the most effective and efficient manner.
