BALTIMORE COUNTY - Baltimore County is among the 2023 Gateways for Growth award recipients.

Giuliana Valencia-Banks, Immigration Affairs Outreach Coordinator with the Office of County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Jr., says this award will help the county build a strong partnership with immigrant communities.

“Becoming part of the Gateways for Growth cohort will help to enhance our work of creating equitable programs and policies for everyone who has chosen Baltimore County as their home and highlight the many ways our new neighbors have enriched the community,” Valencia-Banks said.

“We are honored to have the support of Gateways for Growth and look forward to the partnership helping us continue to build a strong and vibrant future for all Baltimore County residents.”

The Gateways for Growth Challenge is an opportunity for municipalities to receive research support and technical assistance from the American Immigration Council and Welcoming America to improve immigrant inclusion in their communities.

“Baltimore County’s diversity is its strength, and our goal is to create an inclusive, welcoming environment that is accessible and welcoming for all,” Valencia Banks added.

What a bunch of word salad with catchy phrases meaning nothing. We were all immigrants at one time and worked hard to advance. Diversity is great with different traditions and viewpoints, etc., but means nothing if it doesn’t add to the community. More of nothing these leaders offer.
