Be Heard By Baltimore County: FY 2024 Budget Town Hall Meetings

BALTIMORE COUNTY - Baltimore County has released the budget town hall series schedule for the upcoming fiscal year. Seven meetings, one for each Council district, will ensure that community members have the opportunity to provide input into the budget planning process.

Since its debut in 2018, the annual budget town hall series has dramatically increased community input on Baltimore County's budget priorities. In 2016-2017, only two people testified on Baltimore County's budget. During Olszewski's first year in office in 2018, over 2,000 residents attended the town halls. The series continued during the pandemic, with the county hosting virtual meetings to promote residents' safety and well-being.

"Government works best when our residents drive the conversation, and I'm so proud of our unprecedented efforts to create a more open, accessible, and responsive government," Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said. "As we begin our second term, we're excited to hold our latest signature town hall series and continue engaging residents in every community as we keep building a better Baltimore County together."

This year's meetings will be held in person for the first time since 2019. All budget town hall meetings will also be live-streamed on Baltimore County Government's YouTube page. Another new addition in 2023 is the "Cabinet Open Houses," where residents who arrive 30 minutes before the meeting can engage directly with crucial Department leaders.

Residents can sign up to testify or submit their ideas and priorities for Baltimore County's FY23 budget in advance by emailing townhall@baltimorecountymd.gov.
