BALTIMORE COUNTY - It's everyone's favorite time of the year once again; road work season.  The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has issued advisories for planned closures and detours on I-83, I-95, I-695, MD 702, MD 45, MD 122, MD 137, and MD 151.

Guardrail replacement work is scheduled for the right shoulder closure and exit ramp traffic shift to one side on I-83 Northbound at Middletown Rd. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 3.

Bridge rehabilitation work will be conducted on I-95 at I-695 Southwest Interchange. The traffic shift, shoulder, and lane closures and overnight interchange ramp detours for a multi-bridge rehabilitation project are scheduled to begin on April 2 and continue through April 6. Single-lane closures will be required on Sulphur Spring Road beneath the I-95 bridges during non-peak hours from April 3-7, with flagging operations to control two-way traffic on one open lane.

MDOT SHA has also announced that overnight multiple-lane closures will be in effect on I-695 from Providence Road to MD 41 through late April. Three ramps at the I-695/MD 41 interchange will be closed overnight on April 6, and detours will be provided.

Blast paint removal and application of new paint may take place at other times behind barriers and within project containment areas on the I-695 bridges over Morse Lane and Norfolk Southern RR. Occasional daytime single-lane closures on I-695 Inner and Outer Loops are possible between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays through spring 2023.

MDOT SHA has also advised that daytime shoulder work and single-lane closures may occur on MD 702 bridges over Back River between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday through spring 2023.

Other traffic disruptions include the closure of the center two-way turn lane and the left lane along northbound York Road between Bosley Ave. and north of Hillside Ave. in Cockeysville through late April for BGE Underground Electric Line Project. Left turns will be prohibited at some locations. BGE is also working on the right-turn lane between the Security Square Mall entrance and the ramp to I-695 South (Beltway Outer Loop) 24/7 through late June.

MDOT SHA has advised of daytime lane closures with flagging operations on MD 137 between Cedar Grove Road and MD 45 and MD 151 between Wise Ave. and New Battle Grove Rd. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday through late June. Daytime single-lane closures are also planned on MD 940 within the I-795 interchange for interstate and primary highway asphalt resurfacing
