White Marsh Shooting Victim Was Not Shot On Mall Premises: Police

WHITE MARSH - The shooting victim found on Monday evening at an Olive Garden in White Marsh was not shot on White Marsh Mall premises, according to Baltimore County Police.

"Although posts to social media suggest a shooting Monday night occurred on mall property, the evidence does not support that," officials said. "The injured person was driven to a local restaurant in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Blvd. in an effort to seek help."

As police continue to investigate the incident, it remains unclear exactly where the shooting occurred.

Some residents and local advocates have voiced concerns over how the police handled information about the incident.

Baltimore County Fraternal Order of Police President Dave Folderauer told Fox 45 that the community should have been alerted earlier to the potential threat.

"The community has not only a right to know about these things as they occur but [they] need to know," Folderauer said.

Police did not confirm if there was an ongoing threat to the community on Monday night. A statement was released on Tuesday morning saying, "At this time, this is believed to be an isolated incident."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police at 410-307-202.
