BALTIMORE COUNTY - A college baseball team from Boston was making their way back from Montreat, NC, on Sunday when their trip was suddenly delayed.
The Fisher College men's baseball team was headed north on I-95 near White Marsh when the bus they were traveling on caught fire. Everyone evacuated the bus safely, but standing on the side of I-95 can be nearly as dangerous.
Thankfully, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company put out the bus fire and invited the team to head back to the station to wait for a new bus.
"Instead of making them stay on the side of the road for the next four hours, we wanted to make sure they were safe because of how dangerous (I-95) is. So, we brought them over to our station to hang out," White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company Xavier Owens told WBAL.
The team was able to rest at the station for a few hours and even got to play some baseball while they waited, according to the fire company.
A new bus arrived later in the afternoon, and the team headed back to Boston.
...still safer than just walking around in Baltimore....
Patchy rain possible, with a high of 76 and low of 55 degrees. Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy in the afternoon, clear overnight.
Why are these parks and trails not clean or broken down, Johnny? Is it the clients you are bringing to this community? When you ‘give’ things to people that haven’t worked hard for something, there is no pride in the upkeep.
Where was Johnny Cliche? See Johnny, it’s about determination and resilience. That’s what makes you successful. Johnny would have talked about diversity, equity, and entitlement. It’s about hard work, Johnny.
