WHITE MARSH - On Friday, the AVENUE at White Marsh announced the addition of World Market to the shopping center’s merchant mix.
World Market plans to open an 18,500-square-foot location next to Nike in the spring of 2024. The market is a retail store that offers a diverse array of furniture, home décor, gifts, and specialty foods sourced from around the world.
In 1959, World Market opened its first location on the docks of San Francisco’s famed Fisherman’s Wharf. The goal was to provide customers with a place to shop for unique decorations and food that cannot be found in traditional retail locations.
“Our stores provide customers inspiration and solutions for decorating, entertaining and gift-giving year-round plus an unmatched holiday marketplace featuring traditional global sweets and unique ornaments and décor,” World Market said in a news release.
Gordon Miller, Anchor Leasing Associate for Federal Realty, said that the store’s addition solidifies The AVENUE’s vision to provide a community destination where shoppers can find almost anything they need.
“We believe World Market, a leader in the home goods industry, to be an excellent complement to our existing retailers at THE AVENUE at White Marsh,” Miller said. “Coupled with our recent announcement that Silver Diner will be opening at the Center and a newly renovated Barnes & Noble will re-open this summer, this further solidifies our vision to provide a multi-faceted destination for the community.”

Why are these parks and trails not clean or broken down, Johnny? Is it the clients you are bringing to this community? When you ‘give’ things to people that haven’t worked hard for something, there is no pride in the upkeep.
Where was Johnny Cliche? See Johnny, it’s about determination and resilience. That’s what makes you successful. Johnny would have talked about diversity, equity, and entitlement. It’s about hard work, Johnny.
