BALTIMORE COUNTY - On Thursday, Governor Wes Moore announced the creation of 165 new jobs at the Tradepoint Atlantic Facility in Baltimore County.

Floor & Decor, a leading retailer of hard surface flooring, is set to expand its presence in the area with a new distribution center. The expansion is projected to create 165 full-time positions, providing a substantial economic boost for the county.

According to the Governor's Office, the Atlanta-based company plans to lease 1.3 million square feet of space in an upcoming facility at Tradepoint Atlantic, strengthening its commitment to Maryland after its first distribution center opened in 2019.

"Floor & Decor's decision to move ahead with a significant expansion and nearly double its workforce in Maryland shows our strength as one of the top distribution hubs in the Mid-Atlantic," Gov. Moore said. "From its location at Tradepoint Atlantic, the company will have access to our booming Port of Baltimore, five major interstates, and several railroads and regional airports to be able to service their customers throughout the Northeast and beyond."

Floor & Decor's commitment to Maryland extends beyond the distribution center. Once this project is completed, the company's total square footage will increase to 2.8 million, and its workforce at the global logistics center will rise to 315.

Senior Vice President of Real Estate for Floor & Decor, Bryan Dodge, expressed his excitement for the company's continued growth in Baltimore and reinforced their commitment to delivering and maintaining an extensive in-stock range of hard surface flooring for their Northeast customers.

"This second distribution facility allows us to strengthen our commitment to deliver and maintain in-stock, job lot quantities of hard surface flooring for our customers throughout the Northeast," Dodge said.

In support of the project, the Maryland Department of Commerce has approved a conditional loan of $825,000 through Advantage Maryland, supplemented by a $82,500 conditional loan from Baltimore County. Floor & Decor is also eligible for other incentives, such as the state's Job Creation Tax Credit and the Enterprise Zone Property Tax Credit.
