TIMONIUM - The Maryland State Fair is back, celebrating its 142nd year with an exciting blend of new offerings and timeless traditions.
An enduring Maryland tradition hosted at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, the fair will span three packed weekends: August 24-27, August 31-September 4, and September 7-10.
"We are pleased to host the Maryland State Fair this summer with thousands of talented individuals and fun-loving fairgoers participating from Maryland's great cities, towns, farms, mountains, and shores," said Maryland State Fair General Manager Andy Cashman. "Our goal is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable, and educational experiences to help make memories for a lifetime."
Gates open at 9 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day Monday, welcoming guests to the livestock and horse shows early on. Fairgoers can explore various attractions from 10 AM–8 PM and enjoy the Carnival throughout the day.
Music lovers have a lot to look forward to this year with the Live! ON TRACK! Concert Series presented by M&T Bank. Spanning two nights on September 8 and 9, the series features acclaimed artists, including All Time Low and Quinn XCII.
In addition to the concert series, various popular local bands and entertainers are scheduled to play daily at the Maryland State Fair Park Free Stage. Rock' n' roll trio Baltimore Rockabilly will kick off the free performances on Thursday.
Food enthusiasts are also in for a treat - the Maryland Foods Pavilion has brought in a range of new vendors this year. From the iconic flavors of Jimmy's Seafood to the innovative delights of Deddles Donuts, there's a dish or snack for everyone.
On August 27, all vendors will vie for the title of Best New Fair Food in the Mallet New Fair Food Competition - look for the giant 10′ Mallet trophies outside of each winning location during your visit!
Other new events and attractions to check out include the Maryland Dairy Princess Contest, a Mobile Blacksmithing Studio, and The Dennis Lee Show. A complete list of vendors, events and attractions can be found on the fair's official website.
Admission is $12 for adults (12-61), $10 for seniors (62+), and $7 for children (6-11), children five and under enter for free. Rides are priced individually, with discounted tickets available online.
