PERRY HALL - On Wednesday, a lengthy standoff in Nottingham ended with a suspect peacefully surrendering to police.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department, a SWAT unit had been deployed to the area around Hydra Lane in Nottingham on Tuesday evening following reports that an individual wanted for assault had locked themself inside a residence.
Dunfield Road was closed for hours on Wednesday as crisis negotiators, specialized tactical teams, and mobile crisis units worked to persuade the man to exit the building.
The suspect is wanted in connection to a knife assault at Perry Hall Square Shopping Center on Tuesday evening. Police have not released the details surrounding the assault but confirmed that the victim was hospitalized due to their injuries.
The standoff ended without incident at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. WBAL reports that police later removed multiple handguns and long-barreled firearms from the residence.
Officials confirmed that the suspect was unharmed when taken into custody.
