PERRY HALL - Pappas Seafood Company is gearing up to open its new distribution center in Perry Hall this week - a hub for shipping millions of crab cakes nationwide. The company is also launching a carryout seafood outlet, both slated to start operations on Wednesday, September 20, at 8801 Belair Road.

The carryout section will offer Pappas' famous crab cakes alongside other specialties, including Maryland crab soup and "Humpty lumptys" - deviled eggs garnished with crab meat and Old Bay seasoning.

Customers can place orders for pickup online, and there will be in-store kiosks for on-site ordering. The outlet will operate every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A grand opening ceremony for the distribution center and carryout area is scheduled for October 7.

The new center will consolidate Pappas' shipping activities, which have been dispersed across multiple locations, into one streamlined operation. The facility will feature five walk-in coolers, office spaces equipped with foosball tables, and additional room for expanding its current 24-member workforce, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Pappas currently operates locations in Cockeysville, Parkville, Glen Burnie, and Bel Air.
