Peyton Leyrer of Nottingham has been awarded a $25,000 scholarship after being named one of two Horatio Alger National Scholars in Maryland. Peyton will graduate from Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts in June. She attends the magnet school in their music program. Besides music, Peyton was involved in Mock Trial and played on the varsity softball team. She is also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).

Peyton has committed to Mount St Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD. She will major in PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics) and Pre-Law. After a school trip to the State Legislature, she realized that combining politics and law was her dream. Congratulations, Peyton, we know you will make Nottingham/Perry Hall proud!
